Accomodation and Travel
 

Each participant is responsible for arranging their own accommodation, including breakfast. The most practical place to stay is Hajdúszoboszló, as during the conference a bus will depart from here every morning to the plenary session venue in Hortobágy and return here at the end of the daily programs. The planned departure point will be at the beginning of Fürdő Street; the exact coordinates will be sent to participants later. Please note that on Wednesday and Thursday of the conference, participants are responsible for arranging their own dinner. If accommodation is booked in another settlement, participants must organize their own transport to the conference venue and field programs.

Hajdúszoboszló is located along the MÁV Budapest–Debrecen railway line and is therefore the easiest accessible by train. Tickets can be purchased via the following link:https://www.mavcsoport.hu/.

Near Liszt Ferenc International Airport, there is a railway stop called Ferihegy on the Budapest–Debrecen railway line.

Easiest way to reach Ferihegy railway station:
Bus 200E
Travel time: approx. 8–10 minutes
During the day: departs approximately every 10 minutes
Ticket: standard public transport ticket, available from the local transport company’s ticket machines (several purple machines are located at Liszt Ferenc International Airport). Price: 500 HUF (approx. 1.3 EUR)

Route:
• Bus 200E departs from Terminal 2A or 2B of the airport.
• Get off at Ferihegy railway station stop.
• The bus stop is directly next to the railway station (1–2 minutes’ walk to the platform).

This is the fastest and most cost-effective option.

If you have a lot of luggage or arrive at a less frequent time, a taxi is also an option; however, the fare for this short distance may reach 8–10 EUR.

There is also a much smaller airport in Debrecen. If you arrive there, you will need to take a taxi to Debrecen Railway Station and then travel via the Debrecen–Budapest railway line to Hajdúszoboszló. Tickets can be purchased at: https://www.mavcsoport.hu/

Throughout the entire conference, a dedicated bus service will operate every morning from Hajdúszoboszló to Hortobágy and return in the evening. The departure point is expected to be at the beginning of Fürdő Street; the exact location and coordinates will be communicated later.

Participants may also arrange accommodation in nearby settlements; however, in this case, they must organize their own transport to the conference venue in Hortobágy and to the field programs.
